Ferry fun Facilities

Main Club House

The Main Club House is the heart of the club. It overlooks the Apapa shipping terminal and is only minutes away from Victoria Island and Ikoyi. It has several fleets of sailboats which include the Lightning, Tarpon, Lasers, GP and Lightning.

Hungry? The club restaurant has a mouthwatering selection of some of the most delicious dishes in town. The sumptuous meals prepared by our chefs can please the faddiest of appetites. Be sure to try our famous Jumbo Prawns or have a pizza while sipping on a Rock Shandy.

The bartenders at our clubhouse have a potion for every emotion. At their disposal are soulful cocktails, fun mock-tails, a wide selection of wines and spirits that will leave you wanting more. Or sip on draught beer and enjoy watching a game or two on the high definition flat screen televisions placed all around the bar.

Kids Play Area

The Kids Playpen is conveniently located adjacent to the main clubhouse with swings and also a jungle gym for the younger children. With the always present breeze and the many shaded areas this is probably the most pleasant children’s area in Lagos.

Ogogoro Beach

Ogogoro Beach is located bang in the middle of the Lagos harbour on Ogogoro Island. The weather here is pleasant and perfect for sailing. It is very popular among beach goers and provides a great “get away” from the city while being only a five minute boat ride away.

It is the home of the Hobie Catamaran Fleet which includes Hobie 16s and F18 Wildcats. With a beach side bar, beach hut, BBQ facilities, washrooms, showers, sun beds and picnic tables it is the perfect place to spend a nice afternoon relaxing with friends.

Tarkwa Bay Beach

Tarkwa Bay Beach houses a private Beach Hut exclusive to LYC members. Enjoy the convenience of a private area separated from the crowd within Tarkwa bay and savour the time you spend here with friends and family. Tarkwa bay has a concrete beach hut, BBQ facilities, washrooms, showers and picnic tables. You can even stroll down to the beach from the hut to enjoy the waves and even try your hand at some surfing.

On the days with an outgoing tide, our cruising sailors usually chose to sail to Tarkwa Bay. Riding the tide to Tarkwa Bay normally doesn’t take longer than 30 minutes. Tarkwa Bay is situated at the Western side of the Harbour entrance separated from the main Harbour by a low training mole.

If you’re worried about how to get to these places, don’t worry. LYC transport boats regularly ferry members from the main club to both Ogogoro and Tarkwa Bay.
